The Secretariat for Research, International Relations and Postgraduate Courses organizes the UNCuyo’s Third University Model of the United Nations, a place of networking for students from Argentine universities who already have or are eager to develop a leadership profile and who are looking to insert themselves into international affairs.
The Model of the United Nations (MNU) has many stages of training and discussions on international problems, including a course on international politics, training in soft skills and training regarding the regulation of the United Nations’ system and simulation.
At the MNU the student represents a country, studies its political, economic and environmental reality and prepares himself/herself to be a global citizen. When enrolling, students have access to a series of courses which will prepare them for the simulation of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Besides, they work in teams, in two languages, if wanted, and loose the fear to speak in public and begin to develop as world-changing leaders. As a change, this third edition includes English and Spanish as languages of debate, as well as individual and team enrollment.
The MNU looks for training and reflection on the political, economic, and environmental international reality. It also searches the democratic dialogue among UNCuyo, Latin American and The Caribbean students. Apart from this, it looks for the increase of the understanding on Goals of Sustainable Development and the functioning of the United Nations system as a platform for the development of international relations. Besides, the MNU’s aim is to foster multiculturalism and international, ethnic and religious coexistence; and it also looks for the development of skills related to leadership, oratory, negotiations, interdisciplinary and team work.
The registration deadline is on Friday, August 27. Workshops will be held from August 16 to September 10; whereas, the simulation of the General Assembly of the United Nations will be held on October 4, 5 and 6 at the UNCuyo’s campus.
